Professor Remus L.'s Wand
A really nice wand, simply but it works. I mostly use a South American wood called jatoba or Brazilian cherry (though it is not a real cherry wood) for this wand, the colour is excellent and it takes stain for the handle very evenly and without problems that can occur with other woods. That said, I can use other woods, as you will see below. The official version of this wand was made from olive, and presumably stained afterwards, as most olive is too light for the wand design.
